The new Ole Miss Softball Complex in Oxford, MS, was constructed to enhance the university’s athletic facilities and included a complete roofing scope across multiple structures. Independent Roofing was selected to install a custom red Berridge Standing Seam Metal Roof over the grandstands and an Elevate Modified Bitumen Roof System over the adjoining locker rooms. The project also featured wall panel installation and precision detailing under a fast-paced timeline to ensure the complex would be ready before the start of softball season.

Challenge / Objective

With multiple trades working simultaneously in limited staging areas, site access and workspace coordination were a daily challenge. The project team also worked under a tight deadline, as construction had to be finalized prior to the season’s first pitch. Precision in scheduling and execution was essential to delivering on time without compromising quality.

Solution

Independent Roofing coordinated closely with the general contractor and other subcontractors to manage installation within tight spaces and an accelerated schedule. The scope included:

• Berridge Standing Seam Metal Roof over stadium grandstands, fabricated in the school’s custom Ole Miss red 
• Elevate Modified Bitumen Roof over locker rooms for reliable long-term protection 
• Flush panel wall systems over locker room exteriors for a seamless finish 
• Custom stainless-steel internal gutter system to manage water drainage cleanly and invisibly

Crews worked in tandem and adhered to strict time blocks to avoid overlap with other trades and maintain project momentum.

The Ole Miss Softball Complex project was completed on time, meeting the university’s preseason deadline and delivering high-performance roofing systems across the complex.
