Northwest Rankin High School in Flowood, MS, underwent full-scale new construction that included complex roofing and metalwork systems. Independent Roofing was selected to install a 2-ply Soprema Modified Bitumen roofing system alongside standing seam metal roofing, wall panels, soffits, and custom detailing. The project required a high degree of coordination with the general contractor’s timeline over a 660-day construction window. Despite the size and complexity of the job, it was completed safely, efficiently, and ahead of schedule—delivering a high-performance roofing solution for a major new educational facility.

Challenge / Objective

Constructing a brand-new high school meant aligning with the general contractor’s tight and evolving schedule. Dozens of subcontractors were on-site at once, increasing the need for collaboration, sequencing, and real-time adjustments. Maintaining top-tier safety on such a large site was also a primary concern.

Solution

• Walk pads, hatches, railings, and metal soffit 
• Custom wall panels and drainage components
  

Materials were staged and installed in carefully planned phases, with safety check-ins occurring daily to ensure OSHA compliance. Metalwork and roofing teams worked in tandem to streamline installation and avoid overlap or downtime.
