Mississippi Regional Housing Authority V required a complete roof system overhaul at their Newton, MS facility. Independent Roofing was selected to perform the tear-off of the aged roofing system and install a fully adhered TPO solution with new insulation and coverboard. The project restored full watertight protection and enhanced the building’s thermal performance — all under Carlisle’s 20-year NDL warranty.

Challenge / Objective

The existing roof system had reached the end of its service life and was no longer providing proper waterproofing or insulation performance. While no major access or scheduling limitations were present, careful attention was given to protecting the facility during the tear-off and installation phases.

Solution

The project team removed the existing roofing system and installed a new assembly featuring:

• 2″ ISO insulation for energy efficiency

• ½” Securock coverboard for stability and fire resistance

• Fully adhered 060 Carlisle TPO membrane using CAV-Grip adhesive

• Shop-fabricated metal coping for durable perimeter detailing

All work was performed in accordance with Carlisle’s installation standards to ensure warranty compliance and long-term performance.

Results

The project was completed successfully with minimal disruption to building occupants. The new roofing system not only stopped active leaks but improved the overall energy performance of the facility. The client was pleased with the efficiency and outcome of the work.
