Madison Avenue Lower Elementary required a roofing solution that could blend seamlessly with both existing and new structures during a front atrium expansion. Independent Roofing was brought in to remove the existing standing seam entry roof, tie in new construction, and install two distinct systems—modified bitumen over flat areas and standing seam metal over sloped sections. All work was completed on a tight summer schedule with no disruption to school operations.

This project involved both new construction and re-roofing to accommodate an addition to the school’s front atrium. The existing standing seam metal roof over the entry was removed, and a new section was constructed that tied into the existing building. The goal was to ensure the transition was watertight while completing all work during the school’s summer break.
