Independent Roofing has been protecting commercial buildings across Mississippi since 1980. What started as a family-owned operation has grown into one of the state’s most trusted commercial roofing companies — and now a key partner in a national platform backed by Rampart Exterior Services.

While ownership has evolved, our values haven’t changed: real craftsmanship, certified systems, and a no-shortcuts approach.

Independent Roofing founded by Jimmy Hunter in Jackson, MS
1982
Officially incorporated
1990s
Played key subcontractor role in Mississippi’s casino boom (Tunica, Philadelphia, Gulf Coast)
1998
Moved into larger headquarters on McRaven Road in Jackson
2008
Ownership transferred to Larry Montpelier, Melissa Naquin (daughter of founder), and Joe Naquin (son-in-law)
2024
Built and relocated to a new facility in Pearl, MS (office, shop, and warehouse)
Fall 2024
Became the first acquisition under Rampart Exterior Services, a Huron Capital platform; Gabe Mesanza named CEO; Joe Naquin remains President, Larry Montpelier remains as Vice President
